Privacy notice

Please review this notice with your own adviser before relying on it. It is a starting template and should reflect exactly how your business handles data.

Who we are

Shift is a marketing service based in Mid-Essex. For anything about your data, email anthony@shift-marketing.co.uk.

What we collect

  • Audit requests: your name, business, email, phone, website, town and anything you tell us, so we can prepare and send your audit.
  • Client portal: login details and the activity needed to provide the service.
  • Leads we handle for clients: when you enquire with one of our clients through an ad or landing page, we process your details on their behalf (as a processor) so they can respond and book you in.
  • Technical data: IP address and basic logs, used for security and to prevent spam.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

To respond to your request (legitimate interests and steps before a contract), to deliver our service to clients (contract), and to keep our systems secure (legitimate interests). We do not sell personal data.

AI tools

We use AI tools to help write ads and to reply to enquiries on behalf of our clients. People review the ads before they run, and any conversation can be handed to a person. We only use providers that offer appropriate data protection terms.

How long we keep it

Audit requests that do not become clients are deleted after 12 months. Client and lead records are kept for the length of our contract and up to 6 years afterwards for accounting purposes, unless the client asks us to delete them sooner.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, or object to how we use it, by emailing us. If you are unhappy with how we handle it, please tell us first; you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
